FLPOA Announcement on Zebra Muscles
Recently Zebra mussels were found in Roosevelt Lake and because Crooked Creek flows out of Roosevelt to Pug Hole Lake and then to Mitchell Lake and the outlet from Mitchell Lake is Daggett Brook which flows into Eagle Lake so the DNR has posted signs at the Mitchell and Eagle Lake public accesses. They are doing this because the zebra mussel veligers float in the water and could cause infestations in lakes down-stream. No adult mussels have been found and the DNR plans to do a search this fall and next spring looking for adult zebra mussels. Please click below for more information and what you can do to help protect our lakes.
